review 1: Being a massive fan of Supernatural Romance, I have seen the good and the bad side to the genre. And sadly, this book series rates on the bad side. The first book is okay, if you need something quick to read, and you happened to pick it up at the library then sure go ahead. It's when you reach the second and third books that it starts to go downhill. Reading book number three felt like I was dragging myself through treacle just to get to the end. I managed half of book 4 before giving up completely and only reading the end of book 6 to see if they got together. (Spoiler Alert: They did. Of course they did. And it took 6 books of pointless dilly dallying for them to get there) They are dull and boring. Any plot twists seem laboured and useless, and the main character is mi... moreserable, withno enthusiasm and is plain stupid when it comes to dealing with anything. I spent many pages, frustrated with her for not using her brain. There are far better book series that are not hard to find. Heck, I enjoyed rereading Twilight for the 5th time more than these books. Which is a shame, because the concept does sound interesting and appealing. It is just let down by the plot and lifeless characters.
review 2: I wanted to give this series 0/5 but goodreads won't allow me.The first two books were okat but then the whole plot went downhill.I have all the parts of this stupid series.(GOSH I CAN'T BELIEVE I WASTED SO MUCH TIME AND MONEY ON THESE BOOKS!)I had to force myself to read the fourth and the fifth book.. Still haven't read the sixth one.So, this series is about a weak female protagonist. Imagine someone weaker than Bella. Yep, that's Ever! And then we have a chivalrous male character, Damon. Apparently he's an immortal. And he turns her into one as well, for a stupid reason. Ever cries all the time and is generally a whiny bitch, but our Mr.Perfect aka Damon always forgives her and his love for her never dies.BULLSHIT.And then there is Jude (JACOB!) and evil people who try to separate Damon and Ever. (Doesn't that sound familiar?)THIS SERIES IS SO ANNOYING I CAN'T EVENURGHBDJDJBI don't care who Ever chooses. I DON'T CARE, OKAY?This series is like a bad version of twilight, and that is saying something.The plot is stupid, the characters are stupid, the writing is stupid. Everything is PLAIN STUPID.Ever is so weak and moody. If I were Damon, I'd slap that bitch. I've never regretted buying a book this much! I still have so much resentment left inside me towards this unoriginal series.It should never have been published!Gah. I have lost all faith I had in humanity.----EDITED----Damon is with an E. So, it's Damen, not Damon.Oh, how original. less
