review 1: I just finished this book and i love it. Emma is so brave and adventurous, and it intrigued me how the (SPOILER!!!) Darkhel fairy had encountered her mother and how she died because she had used the Death Spell to save her husband and child. I also loved how Emma and Curtis's romantic relationship worked out in the end, even though I was disappointed how Curtis had kept trying to kiss her and failed, if i may say so myself, but when he finally did he backed out of it! I hated how she kept doubting that Curtis liked her even though it worked into the plot and completely fit.I am just guessing that I felt bad for Emma. Anyways all in all I ended up re-reading my favorite parts and I love this book.
review 2: pretty great except for a few things.p.s. your going to... more have to forgive on the capitalization front. i am writing on an ipad.1) the author kept repeating phrases, and that is just bad form.ex (verbatim): it's been a bad weekorhis voice was low and raspy and sent a delicious shudder racing through her2) this book should have been told in first person, since the book only focused on her.3) why not use the blood of the pure one to save her? they knew who it was and that the blood had magic healing properties. it would have been a lot more believable than the whole gate in the eye thing.4) i liked the romance, it was just not executed the best. a. it was abrupt. it was "i hate you, then really like you".(however i am appreciative that the author didn't try to make the stretch to love)b. the guy (Curtis) shouldn't have been like i cant be with you cause i am living a lie. just no. it would definitely have been better if she just been better if she had just found out while they were dating.c. there wasn't much put into the relation ship other than his blond curls (another phrase repeated). Why did they like each other.5) did no one think trying to killing the tiny fairies was slightly immoral? 6) And why did she turn down being a dragon hunter? she could've been both.p.s.s. i applauded the main characters bad-assery! (it was the main reason i liked the book)overall, not bad. less
