review 1: NADBB was asked to review this series. We were completely new to this author and since we were, and it was a series we're altering the format a little. So this review is for both books on the whole.SYNOPSIS:Book 1 is the story of Charlize and Connor. Charlize is a busy business woman who needs to prove she's worthy of being CEO, she doesn't have time for distractions. She doesn't want a body guard and especially if they come in the form of Connor. Book 2 goes along with the bodyguard, only this time it involves Ty and the woman he's lusted after forever, Brooke.The REVIEW:The Good:The books are well written with just enough twists and turns to be a formula. Charlize is a good written heroine who is not a door mat. She has a backbone, and shows emotions too. It's a fine... more line to be able to write that and Ms. Bardan pulls it off admirably. The Alpha heros were also something else thoroughly enjoyable and we give praise to the author again, though in our eyes Ty was the most enjoyable. We loved him. The Bad:While we like the way Charlize was well written, it didn't quite take us where we wanted to go with her. The same can't be said for Brooke. We didn't like her at all. I think the reader was supposed to sympathize with her but there just wasn't enough there to pull that off. The books while hot at times depended more on that than anything else. For instance Book two, catching the bad guy came off as oh here since it's here, lets clear it up. The Rating:It is an enjoyable read and Ty is super yummy. 3.6 to 3.8 stars review 2: Thank you Netgalley and Fido Publishing for a 5star erotic romance with suspense, and page turner wrapped in one. Charlize is a young and feisty woman who has recently taken over the family business. Unfortunately she wears a skirt in a mans business world and is undermined at every request and staff meeting. The company is in the red and she is determined to save the company and to be respected for her position as CEO. After being attacked she moves forward and hires a body guard. In walks Conner . . . .Conner owns his own security company and is an ex-detective. Conner is HOT, sexy, secure, and alpha. He is everything Miss CEO does not want. One can not deny the chemistry between these two. This book is hot, sexy, romantic, suspenseful, erotic, page turner , a great read. I am looking forward to more books by Amber A. Barden! less
