review 1: "You had me at hello." is a very famous line from the movie Jerry Maguire and my thoughts on this wonderful book. There is a very short prologue that absolutely captured my total attention and set the tone of the book for me. It was awesome. I read the book right through as I could not put the book down. Cathy has been divorced for about ten years. She had married the high school football hero right out of high school and divorced him shortly after. It was not a happy union and she wondered later if she had ever really loved him or was he just a bit of security for her. The home she lives in used to be her family's summer home. She owns a thriving health food café nearby. After all she has been through in life, she feels content in her life even if she is a bit lonely. ... more Cathy was contacted by a friend from her childhood, Pam. It seems that she and her young family need a little help with housing while her husband looks for a job. Pam has not keep in contact with Cathy since the day that Pam showed up at Cathy's house several months after Cathy's husband had moved out... the day that Cathy miscarried her daughter. Its been almost ten years. However, Cathy opened her home and later her business to them. Cathy never dreamed that she would be drawn to a married man, especially her friend's husband. The characters are strong, with a great story line. The book certainly captured my attention from the beginning and held on throughout the whole book. I recommend it highly. I am so very lucky and pleased to have won this book through Good Reads, it truly was an awesome read.
Cioè...no.
