review 1: It's clear to even a fashion dullard like me from reading this book, essentially the official catalog from the retrospective of his work at The Met, that McQueen was a genius and a true artist. But while the book is adequate, some of the run-of-the-mill (by fashion standards) photography doesn't seem to do the pieces they capture full justice or rise to the level McQueen apparently demanded when presenting his collections during live shows. Worth reading for the great preface by Andrew Bolton and interview with Sarah Burton, the creative director at McQueen's own fashion house at the end, especially for those who may have been familiar with his name but not quite known why the entire fashion industry was so devastated when he took his life in 2010.
review 2: I'
... morem a visual person and this book really captured my attention. Even if you don't like his style for clothes, if you are into modern art you will be able to appreciate the stunning photography and display this book provides. If you are a designer, than you will marvel at the intricate design and how perfect fabrics were chosen to lay or look a certain way. If you are into fashion, it will take your breath away. There are many designs in this book that are not "my taste" per se, but I still looked at the entire book in awe. This will be a coffee table favorite for years to come. less

I'm not usually 'into' this sort of book but I found this amazing, as did my mom and sister!

I expected it to have the entire collection that was put on display. Not bits and pieces.

Wow! All I can say is I wish that I would have worn some of his clothes!
