review 1: This book really resonated with me. The writing style bordered on pretentious (...ok, so it crossed over that border a few times), but it captured depression in a way that I've never really seen before, and was really powerful for me. I can definitely see how others might dislike this book, because I think it appealed to me for very personal circumstances, but from a technical standpoint it was also really well conceived and constructed.
review 2: I don't think I'm particularly hard to convince, but I had a really difficult time suspending my disbelief with this story. I just didn't ever feel like I understood Greta's motivation, or the time travel aspect, or all of anything, but I didn't really care that I was missing bits. It's a bit like sitting through an e
... morentire movie and leaving and not knowing what it was supposed to be about: I can tell you who did what and where and how, but not why or what for. less
