review 1: I really enjoyed this book. Maybe because it was so realistic. Clare is a girl with a brother who is always in trouble, another brother who she is not close to and parents that are very over protective. Her mother is a littler neurotic. She carries around her skeletons with her, however has problems letting people in, as do most of her family. She learns and grows in this book over the course of her junior and senior year of high school. It was just a really good story. I could not put down.
review 2: Wow. I don't really know what to say or what to feel even about this book. It's one emotional roller coaster that even when I've finished it, doesn't feel like it's over. There's a lot of mixed feelings towards everything. From the angst of Clare to the (I
... morecan't really find an appropriate word for how I feel about their actions, but I will come back to it if/when I get a word!) of Clare's parents to double-sided Luke, I don't know where to start. I will say though that one thing that really bothered me was Clare's parents. It's never really explained why they enabled Luke like that (except for a hint about perhaps something happening in the Clare's mum's past). That was the one thing that I felt never really cleared up and kind of sunk in at the end more than the freedom Clare finally allows herself to have. But overall, I loved the book and it's definitely one of my favourites in 2014 :) less
