review 1: I really did enjoy this book. It is geeky-cute, and there truly is something sexy about science-types who are clueless and yet strangely endearing. Strong creates an entirely believable character in Dr. Fisher (my best friend is married to a neurologist, and, yes, the author conveyed that vibe convincingly). Toss in Miss G. as the test subject and assorted quirky lab assistants, and it's a win-win-win for the reader. It's like Big Bang Theory meets Lady Chatterley's Lover .. . or, not quite that, but it is all about geeks and empirical data and love and chemistry and biological imperatives gone awry. And bonobos. Lots of fun.
review 2: Wow! finished this book in several hours. It was a fast-paced fun read yet, it didn't feel underdeveloped. I'm not going to wa
... moreste any time telling you what the book is about because surely you can find that information on most of the other reviews. Instead, I'm going to discuss what I loved so much about it. First I'd like to point out that I really appreciate the fact that this author was not lazy, its clear that he put time and effort into this book. Sadly, not enough authors actually do their research which then result in butchering a potentially great story. My favorite thing has to be the images that are on every few pages, they help give the reader a better grasp of the subjects brought up in the many conversations between the main characters. Another great thing about this book is the author gives several different point of views by allowing the reader to peek into the main characters diary. That being said, the cherry on top of this delicious-sciency-sundae has to be the conversations, interactions, and subjects discussed in detail between the two main characters. This book is a love story taking place in an environment that is typically not romantic, in unusual circumstances but somehow it worked beautifully. The conversations are intelligent, stimulating, witty, charming, sexy, invigorating, and sometimes hilarious. I loved this book and have nothing negative to say about it, I can't wait to read more from this author. less
