review 1: I enjoyed The Missing DoSac Files in its app form: Malcolm Tucker's Missing Phone-- which has all of the written material of the published book, and the glorious addition of Malcolm Tucker & co. leaving abusive voicemails, in the attempt to recover the phone, among other things. It's a joy to check your device and see that a new shouty sweary message (recorded by Peter Capaldi of course) is awaiting. Much of the multimedia content is as good as the show's material, and gives some (often hilarious, sometimes poignant) insight to the characters- some falls a bit flat when just read on the page, a few things overdone. But it all does contribute to creating something that could truly be a set piece on the show. If you enjoy The Thick of It, In The Loop, you will love this as ... morewell.
review 2: If you like the series, you will enjoy this. It could have gone harder and more creative with the swearing, but the television version has perhaps set the bar impossibly high. One thing that represents (I believe) a genuine character development from the television version is that Malcolm Tucker puts kisses at the bottom of many of his emails. He also seems to have a very genuine fondness for his secretary. less
