review 1: Received a copy in exchange for an honest review.Summer's Temptation is the story of Cassie a college student who has decided after suffering the heartbreak of her ex cheating on her resulting in their breakup that she is going to focus on her studies and not get involved in a relationship. Her friend Liz tells her that she needs find a guy who she can have no strings attached sex with in order to satisfy her needs. After seeing Cassie interact with Tyler who is notorious on campus for being a bad boy who hooks up with various girls, but who will never settle down, Liz suggests that he will be perfect for the job. Cassie thinks the suggestion is crazy at first, however, once she begins her summer class and meets her young and extremely attractive professor she decides that... more having a as she prefers to call it "hug" buddy will help to keep her from trying to get involved in a relationship or act on her attraction to her professor especially when she begins to suspect that the feeling might be mutual. Cassie believes that her new plan will work, but can two people keep it only physical without any feelings arising?. Cassie believes that her heart is safe because as the saying from her friend goes:"If there are only three truths in life, they are these. Women will always try to change a man. Men will always say anything to get a girl in bed. Tyler Mason will always have a long line of girls trying to domesticate him, and none will succeed. If one of these ceases to be true, the world will cease to exist."I felt that Cassie was a very relatable character. The college years are often a time of great self discovery due to having the independence of being able to take risks while at the same time trying to balance having more responsibility. Cassie knows that she needs to keep up her grades to maintain her scholarship, but at the same time though she claims to not want to be in a relationship she deep down wants that connection, but fears being hurt again and how that will impact her. Something I appreciated about her character was that while she was oblivious to the effect that she had on men. It is not that she was down on herself, but she just did not see herself the way others did, which I do not think is all that of an uncommon thing, so I like when characters are portrayed that way.I enjoyed reading this story to the point that it was hard to put it down. While it might seem at first that this is a predictable story a twist was thrown in that I was not quite expecting. I love being surprised when I am reading because often I can figure out quickly what is going to happen. As the story progressed, I loved Tyler more and more. I wanted to know more about him, but I do think it added to the story that some things about him remained a mystery. I am so excited that there is a book two because though this book does not end with a cliffhanger, at the end there is an excerpt for Autumn's Fall which definitely leaves you on the edge after reading it. I can't wait to learn more about Tyler, which hopefully includes the meaning of his tattoo. I am also interested in seeng any differences in Cassie after the events that unfolded in this story. If you are looking for a book with steamy scenes, a hot bad boy that is not quite all he appears to be, hilarious friends, and cute moments you should definitely read this book.
review 2: I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This book had me hooked right from the first sentence. I thought the author did a great job of getting you interested right away and was able to build on that.I thoroughly enjoyed Tyler's character. He is a womanizing playboy, but you could just tell there was more to him than what he was showing. While Cassie's character annoyed me at times, I still enjoyed her story and could understand what she was going through. I agree with others in that I would have liked to have learned more about the supporting characters. There were several twists in the book that definitely caught me off guard and made me enjoy the book, and Tyler, even more.I definitely recommend this book. I can't wait for the next book to come out! less
