review 1: I actually did not finish this book and it is the first time in a really long while.I really feel cheated by the cover. The cover suggests something else than the book actually is.I do not like femdom and there was nothing in the description that made me think that this is a femdom book. Plus the cover suggest otherwise.Book is written well, but everything seemed to unreal for me. I know I know there are books that are even more unreal (all the club owner etc.) but this.. simply didn't sit well with me overall. I read like 1/2 before I put it down and never opened it again.I might be wrong and she becomes a switch in the second half of the book, but I really don't think so.
review 2: I liked some aspects of this BDSM genre novel by Avery St. Andrews if it's ta
... moreken as fun. The story centres around a Private Investigation Agency whose owner Delia/Del is asked to investigate, by a previously satisfied client Marilyn, whether the Jacksons, a couple who want to take young heiress Kat to be their personal sub is safe; in light of their cruelty over another damaged sub. This however becomes almost incidental and interwoven into the journey made by Del as she finds her own previously unknown Domme needs awakened, after Marilyn takes her under her wing and introduces her to the local BDSM scene. Others who become involved are her personal assistant the immensely well endowed Seth whose interest is subbing for his boss. Off duty bisexual cop Brady, who develops emotional as well as physical yearnings for Del, plus secondarily but definitely part of the variety of scenes are Kat, Marilyn, her philandering husband Gerald and latent BDSM heroines the two lady lesbian Doctors. This becomes a melting pot of just about any and all varieties of BDSM themed events that could possibly be incorporated into just over 200 pages and still have a story theme interspersed here and there throughout. It's is far fetched and far away from reality, but a fun read and shouldn't be taken too seriously bar for one instance which in my point of view and on safety issues should not have been included and quite horrified me.The scene where nails are being hammered through a woman's breasts is stupid, abhorrent and wrong. I'm not against nipple piecings which is usually a single event. This nailing of breast to tray if copied by the naive or ignorant, leaves women open to at best infection, at worst it damages delicate breast tissue, milk glands and ducts and blood vessels to permanent damage, scar tissue and possibly increasing breast cancer risks. Avery St Andrews should be ashamed for writing this in. The standard of English could be better, some sentences were muddled or needed better clarity, and some spelling and grammatical errors that are there should have been edited out. I think based on good and not so good it would be fair to say borderline, 3/4 stars but will give just 4. less
