review 1: This book had one of my most hated tropes in it - but it was chosen for me as a challenge read so I persevered - the love = possession trope. The only way I ever saw the "love" shown and not told was in sexual attraction and extreme possessiveness/domineering. I generally would have avoided this story because I know that kind of plot line pushes all my buttons. I was also frustrated because many times in the story I had to re-read a passage to see whose head we were in because POV switched so often and so suddenly and often to unexpected side characters. Overall, this was not my favorite story BUT I know that many people LOVE the domineering, possessiveness = love stories so for them, this book might be one to read. 1 star for the story, 3 stars for the writing, 2 stars ov... moreerall.
review 2: ok.at first I couldn't quite figure out what was happening in this story and then when I thought I had it the story itself stopped just shy of the idea in my head.. what I mean is I couldn't understand why Elijah needed to have William to come to ranch..I mean the reason was stated but in reading the story it implied that there was an entirely different reason for him wanting him to come there.. but that reason was never brought to light. The story was amusing in some parts and touching and sexy in others. Overall I gave it three stars and that's kind of generous on my part for it. I really wanted to give it five stars but the reason for Eli wanting Will at the ranch was never truly explained..that threw me off.extra: I thought that after Elijah telephoned Will about his sister..He fell in love with the voice on the other line and he decided to come up with that story to get him to the ranch.. or perhaps he had seen a photo of Will in the possession of his sister and fell for him and decided he had to have him.. just what I thought while I was reading but that was not the case.. the actual reason didn't seem like reason enough in my opinion..the reason should have been more compelling. less
