review 1: This book was truly a riveting read, and unfortunately I picked the WORST time to start it because I was so engrossed that I almost didn't have time to finish Christmas preparations! From start to finish I had an unbelievably hard time putting Mark of the Princess down. I found everything about this novel fabulous! Through the novel and its characters B. C. Morin created a lyrical, exciting and wonderful world that I felt unbelievably honoured to be apart of.Princess Alannah, the main heroin of the story is stubborn and feisty and one of the few heroines I have truly loved. Alannah had just the right amount of independence and ability to take care of herself however it wasn't overpowering in the usually "I don't need anyone but myself" angsty attitude as she did need help s... moreome of the times. On top of the beautiful characterization of Alannah I also thoroughly Morin's ability to intricately weave main plots and sub plots in a way that left as many questions answered as were created making me want to read on for days! There was not a character I didn't fall in love with and I don't know how I will cope with the cliff hangers at the end of this novel.Mark of the Princess was my first real attempt at a faerie novel and I am both elated and upset by this. I am elated because it was remarkable and has me hooked on the genre but upset because the bar is set so high for all of the other faerie novels! B.C. Morin I would like to thank you for the opportunity to go on such a wonderful adventure!
review 2: This was freaking wonderful! The characters were intriguing and the plot was fantastic!Alannah is the princess, and a faerie. As all the characters in this novel are. She has a mark on her back that hasn't been seen in a thousand years, and therefore few people know what it is. One of those people happens to be the amazing Brennus, who I am rooting for all the way. See, he has this tough guy exterior built around him, but he truly cares for Alannah. Now, on the other hand, there is Kaleb, the goody two shoes prince from a nearby kingdom. he is the one that meets Alannah first, and also the first she kisses. but that doesn't mean much. Now, as to the actual plot... there is a bad guy, but really isn't there one in every book? He wants to raise a dead army and a super bad guy so that he can rule the realm. he also wants Alannah for her incredible power, as he thinks he can convince her to do his bidding. hah. yeah right, buddy. Then on a mini plot, Kaleb's best friend, and Alannah's adopted sister fall in love, without complications. Evi wants to learn her true heritage, as she sets off to do near the end of the book.Over all this is a fantabulous book that I recommend everyone read! less
