review 1: Fast, funny enjoyable read. "Life is a journey, not a destination" applies to this travelogue as the main challenge in this 30-day trip is how to make the next stop in time and what to do along the way. The actual games are something of an afterthought to be endured. Some might be bothered by the switching POV; I read it like a multi-person journal where the entries are not labeled by author. I would have liked to know more about what they packed and ate along the trip. Brought back memories of my own college-aged road trips. Glad I'm not doing road trips like this any more.
review 2: Baseball and road trips are two of my favorite things, so how could I not enjoy this tale of the best worst baseball road trip ever. Who wouldn't think it was cool to write
... more a computer algorithm to determine the optimum plan for seeing a baseball game in all 30 major league stadium in 30 consecutive days? Who wouldn't want to go on a post-college graduation/pre-real world job road trip with a best friend? Well, maybe Eric, but he still agrees to be Ben's wing-man on this trip of a lifetime that might end up being the death of them, or at least of their friendship. Not the best thing I've ever read, but a fun romp to pick up in the dog days of summer. less
