review 1: I'm genuinely concerned for the people who gave this book more than 3 stars. It was, to say the least, a train wreck. I started out with high hopes it would be a bit like Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, but was quickly disappointed. Maybe we can start with the pointless love triangle. If you can even call it that. It was, as I said before, pointless. Caleb was the only person in the entire story with a personality that wasn't horrifically boring and unremarkable, and was quickly disregarded by Cassidy. I thought the book would be about, in death, Cassidy coming to terms with the fact she dated the wrong boy in life and now has to accept the fact she was truly in love with Caleb. This was not the case.Instead, the whole book was Cassidy, the dead girl, making out with her l... moreiving boyfriend, while all of her one dimensional friends trotted around looking for a killer that wasn't even in the slightest bit shocking.All in all, it was written well. The story line was weak, the characters were weak, and I almost gave up about every 15 pages. Not recommended.
review 2: This was a 3.5 star read. It wasn't a huge mystery how the book ended. I did like how Cassidy slowly remembered events that led up to her death. I'm surprised by some of the actions of certain characters because more than one person knew who was responsible and they didn't come forward. Good characters throughout, you felt each of their connections to Cassidy. I look forward to reading the next book Bethany Neal writes. less
