review 1: I look through the list of free books available for my Kindle every now and then, and that's where I came across this book. Since my name was in the title, I downloaded it. It took me a while to read it, but when I finally got around to it I loved it. It's not fast paced or overly exciting. It is however a good story with a few really good characters. The story takes place mostly through Amy's thoughts and actions, which was good for me because I found myself liking her more and more as the book went along. She is flawed, honest, sarcastic, funny, and unsure of herself or her chosen path in life, but she is slowly figuring it out. Amy Inspired falls into several genres: christian fiction, women's fiction, and romance--christian because she speaks often of the roll G... moreod and Jesus play in her day to day life, she attends church regularly, and does charitable work in His name; women's fiction because she deals with issues I think most women deal with today; and romance because there is a definite love story involved. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good character driven story without profanity or sexual content.
review 2: The story was interesting, the characters likeable in their oddities, and the main character being a writer intrigued me since I am a writer. While I really enjoyed the style and POV, I felt a little let down when I finished. I didn't come away with a strong sense of the message of the book. I think it could have been a deeper story--but then, I prefer deep stories! Still, it was a good read, and I did find some tasty little tidbits here and there that made me nod and think, "Exactly." less
