review 1: A real page-turner of a read. Dedman and Newell did an excellent job piecing together the lives of W. A. Clark and his daughter Huguette and the authors managed to stay as neutral as possible under the circumstances, when talking of the impending court settlement case. Somehow this story does NOT renew my faith in estate lawyers, though. Money always seems to bring out the greed . . . somewhere.
review 2: This book was interesting because I had never heard of WA Clark or Huguette Clark before. Apart from that, it mostly made me mad that she had no perception of the value of money and gave exorbitant sums as gifts to people she was (arguably) friends with. The author seems to put forward the argument that she was completely lucid and understood what she was
... more doing- but I'm not she I agree with that. less
