review 1: Not sure what to say... I tried really hard to finish this one but only got to 37%I hated Eva, she was all over the place, one minute she's shy, naive and the next she's storming around the office... I wanted to slap her!I figured out who Julian was more or less straight away and when I found myself skipping complete paragraphs I decided to give up...The sex was pretty steamy.This story had potential, it just wasn't for me, the writing was good, just needed more work on character development.I won't be reading the rest.
review 2: This book was a mess and I can't figure out if I liked it or not. Eva was mousy and weak. She'd obviously had trauma in her life which had a huge impact on her but the story just glosses over it. It does explain it, kind of, but not... more very well. She works for a company, I think they do computer stuff but I don't really know since it never really explains that either. Apparently only the men and Eva actually work though because it seems all the women are busy banging the boss when he calls for them. The boss is this mysterious figure who treats the women in his company like his own personal stable, picking out different rides as the day goes on. When he's not getting laid he's being an ass. The Boss, Mr. Doe, is holding a masquerade ball and he orders Eva to go. He's also calling her to his office but hasn't banged her. She's confused. She needs a date for this ball and finds this crazy escort service that's seems to be one guy named Julian. The only thing not confusing about this story was how that was going to play out and what the big twist at the end was going to be. The fact the guy IM'd her on her work computer was a huge hint who Julian was but I'll let you figure it out for yourself within the first thirty seconds like I did. Julian and Eva date, a guy from work throws his hat into the ring, yada, yada, yada. Nope, still don't know how I feel about it. 2.5 stars...I think. less
