Pain in relationships is a common thread throughout most romance fiction, but how can two people heal a rift in their relationship that occurs before the marriage has opportunity to begin? So it is with Heath and Chance, star-crossed lovers with an on-again-off-again history, and who must now face the consequences of their choices. Learning to listen, learning to accept one's own defects, and learning that deeper truths are never really obvious, can be important lessons in putting relationships back together as well as sustaining those that are good from the start. Cara North has written a story that never backs away from the pain, never allows the reader any distance from the hurt, and who seems to be wonderfully in touch with the experiences and feelin... moregs of these characters. Yes, it was published four years ago. So what? It's still a marvelous read!! Time has not diminished its sheen!
review 2: I absolutely love this story. I love that there were no games being played in this book. Both characters stated from the onset they screwed up and wanted to right their wrong (well almost from the beginning). Did they have issues to work through? Yes! Did they make mistakes here and there? Yes! This book was all about love and forgiveness. Not just between husband and wife, but between family, as well. Everyone should takea few notes from this book and apply it when need be.Well done, Cara. less
