review 1: What a wonderful surprise. Deep heartfelt story that was beautifully written and swept me away to the Isle of Skye. I've never read an inspirational romance before and while I did not completely relate to the religious parts, I am very spiritual and respected the gentle way the author wove this element into the story. Highly recommend to anyone who likes a sweet heartwarming romance that borders on women's fiction.
review 2: This was my first read of Carla Laureano's work and I was really impressed! Just like the title suggests, most of this book does happen over five days on the island of Skye. Basically, Andrea (hospitality/hotel consultant) is trying to win a new contract from Jamie, a famous chef who is planning to open a hotel on Skye. The plot is more cha
... moreracter driven as Andrea and Jamie get to know each other better over the five days. At first, their interactions were business-like (on Andrea's part) or flirtatious (on Jamie's part) but then the story got much deeper with both harboring past hurts. I thought this would be a light, simple romantic read but I was happily mistaken. I enjoyed the development of their relationship and it was believable even though it happens over five days. I would have liked a more seamless inclusion of spiritual matters and a more developed relationship between Jamie and his brother Ian. However, I loved the author's descriptions of the landscape and surroundings, it really makes you want to see the place in person. Overall, this is an angsty relationship that you can't help rooting for; I'm looking forward to more of the author's work---4.5 stars. less
