review 1: 3.5 stars. This was an incredibly interesting (and easy to read) memoir of a young girl whose parents are part of the underground resistance in Chile and which she herself becomes a part of. It was amazing to hear the stories of activities people were undertaking for something they believed in, and made me think about my cushy life in a pretty awesome country. After finishing the book I would like to have the chance to have coffee with the author and discuss all sorts of political topics and her opinions. I would recommend this to those interested in current affairs, politics or world issues.
review 2: While I very much enjoyed reading the book, I also found it very disturbing in terms of bringing up children in the violence chosen by the parent's lifestyle! L
... moreiving as I do in North America in relative calm, it is hard to imagine life in that part of the world, but I would find it impossible to put my children in such danger and possible death situations for my ideals and because I wanted them with me! I love them too much for that! less
