review 1: "The Princess Bride" is one of my all-time favorite movies, so naturally I wanted to read what one of the stars of the picture had to say about it. Turns out this is one of my all-time favorite books too. The entire cast and crew seem to have come away from that experience feeling that they had been a part of something magical. The only sour note was that 20th Century Fox, instead of promoting the movie, failed in their task. Had it not been for VHS, and later on, DVD, most of us would never have known of the movie's existence. But now, 25 years later, it has grown to the stature of "The Wizard of Oz" and is a multi-generational favorite. I don't want to spoil the book for anyone, so let me just say that if you love the movie you'll love Cary Elwes' affectionate reco... moreunting of the production process.
review 2: This was a wonderful book! I had a hard time putting it down! I bought the book and book on CD. My husband listened to the audio book at the same as I was reading the book. Now all we want to do is watch Princess Bride again. We already must see it several times a year. Cary Elwes has heart and you can feel it in his words. All of the star's, writer, and director's contribution to the book really just made us fall in love with the movie all over again. The audio book is wonderful too! I recommend buying both! Cary Elwes' voice is so silky and wonderful to hear. He could read the phone book and I would listen gladly! The background to the making of the Princess Bride movie and the Princess Bride book, is a must read for any fan! less
