review 1: * I received a copy of this book through the goodreads first reads giveaway program. *This was a quick read that didn't leave much to the imagination. The author spelled it all out for the reader using lots of descriptive words that at times made me cringe from the boldness and description of everything that was going on. While I enjoyed most of the book, I felt like the story was one that just about every book I have read describes. A poor, down on her luck girl, a rich beyond belief guy, they meet, instant connections, drama and a break-up....I wish that the author would have done something a little different with the plot, as it seems that it is always the same in all of the books that are out there now. I will eventually read book 2 just to see what happens, but it is ... morenot high on my TBR list right now.
review 2: This book should be as popular, if not more so, than 50 Shades. Steamy, a protagonist who isn't whiny or helpless, and decent story pace makes this a great erotic novel.I never found myself mad at typical cliches and the sex wasn't over done to the point where I was skipping whole scenes just to find the next plot point. While some terms Tan uses are childish descriptions, the overall quality was good.I will definitely be picking up the next one in the series! less
