review 1: While I am a big fan of sarcasm and the simple little recipes at the end of each chapter, I have to say that this book fell below the mark for me. I've read several similar books that had me in tears with laughter, but this one barely made me laugh out loud. It's more of a 'So true, so true...nod knowingly)' kind of book. Rivenbark is likeable and just clever enough with her titles to draw you in, I'll give her that, but I could take it or leave it.

... morefe were great. I love me some Gweneth, but according to Rivenbark, one of the Gwennie's suggestions is to "cook a meal for one you love". Rivenbark's reply, "I do. It's called dinner, and I do it seven nights a week."I guess with a title like this I expected more laugh-out-loud funny stories, and while there were one or two, it wasn't enough. less

Perhaps it's because I am a quarter "southern," but the humor fell flat to me.
