review 1: I loved this novel! The story had many love stories within the main one. The characters were well rounded and likeable- some in their own way. There was so much drama with ups and downs but had a happily ever after. It is a well written book and held my attention so much that I lost sleep over it. I read the book straight through. I highly recommend readers of Historical Romance to snatch this one up. And for those who aren't fans of this genera it is a great introduction to it. I also was able to read introductions to the few books in the series and am excited to drive into them. I enjoy finding new authors and their works.
review 2: The Bride Wore Blue was exactly what I look for in an historical romance - a strong-willed woman who has a problem beyond her co... morentrol; a handsome, honorable man who adores said woman; siblings or parents who need to be taken care of; another woman who has ties, or wants to have ties to said handsome man, and a villain who has set his sights on the strong-willed woman.Ms. Bolen uses these elements so well that the story moves quickly and her characters are so sympathetic you must cheer for them. In this case you knew that Thomas Moreland deserved to win Felicity's heart because she was as honorable as he. Now with just a good romance a book would be just another tired romance, Ms. Boone must realize this for the development of the villainous Colonel Gordon drove the story to a satisfying conclusion.*** This part of the review has nothing to do with the story but the books previews for the next books in the series. Two of those books made me not want to read the series because I don't like What happens to two of the characters. Very frustrating because I really liked this book. less
