review 1: کتاب را از حیث وصف وضع فرد در موقعیت بحرانی این چنینی دوست دارم. حضور مداوم عجله و شتاب - عجله و شتابی که حتی فرصت فکر کردن را می گیرد؛ شلاق هایی که نمی گذارد تصمیمی جدای از جریان امور گرفته شود؛ هراس از درد و مرگی که حتی وجدان را به خاموشی می کشاند. از طرف دیگر شخصیت سربازان هیتلری و اوکراینی هم جالب است: رایشمن جایی می گوید وقتی سرابازان از مرخصی ها باز می گشتند خیلی گرفته و بی حال بودند گویی خانه به اندازه ی اردوگاه شادمانی و لذت نصی�... more�شان نمی کرد...
review 2: It feels a bit uncomfortable rating such a sobering account as 5 stars 'it was amazing', because this book was not in anyway an amazing read. It was sobering, and sickening, much more so that I thought it would be. At the same time, it feels like such an important work. It is amazing (and a form of justice) that there were survivors of the barbaric death camp who were able to get the crimes of the Nazis down on paper so that history can continue to judge and be warned. less
