review 1: It takes a strong mentality to get through this book. I found Chil Rajchman's recollection of Treblinka and his many roles there fascinating if only for the historical testaments of what really took place in those facilities. As you would expect from any autobiography of this nature, The Last Jew of Treblinka was candid in its storytelling, but painted a vivid picture that was riveting and a testament to a great number of tasks man can perform if subjected to the right conditions.Auschwitz may have been the most famous of all the death camps, but only because so many more people left Auschwitz and were able to tell their stories where only a select few were able to survive Treblinka, if only for the fact that Treblinka was a solely concentrated death camp.Reading Rajchman'... mores account of the tasks he performed there is chilling, but unlike the dry historical texts that describe other such details, this told a story: this was a memoir of a man who existed, who lived these very words, who was real, never gave up, and got out. I never once wanted to put the book down, but even if I had, I wouldn't have: it's accounts like these that educate the ignoramus generations that follow.
review 2: This is humanity at its very worst. The description by the author of what went on in Treblinka II extermination camp defies belief. Treblinka I is the forced labour camp but 3km away is Treblinka II. Here is where the author picks up the story. he tells us of the jobs he had and also the process of extermination. Truly horrific. There is no getting friendly with the guards. As the author states they are murderers and seem to take delight in the killing of innocent people. less

It is hard, full of different emotions. Read it to see how silly can be human beings

Good book, informative. Emotional in a methodical way, if that makes sense.
