review 1: If you are looking for a book that has a happy ending this isn’t for you. If you are looking for a book where the couple supports each other, gives each other strength and they become better people forget it this is definitely not for you. But if you want a book that tackles some serious emotional issues rips you apart and shows you what can be when you are broken to the point the emotional and mental pain is more than you can bear. Where you seek solace in someone similar in pain and they are your every breath. Where you find love but in a unhealthy co dependent relationship that in some ways might have you better off in the end for loving that person than this book is one for you. You will emotionally bleed with the characters and get ensconced in their world as they b... morering you on a tearjerking and heartbreaking journey of their time together and finding the love they felt they didn’t deserve but got in each other. Gannon begins to feel as if she doesn’t exist anymore once her parents adopt 3 boys. Emotionally adrift and feeling inadequate she relieves this pain by cutting herself. One day in the park she meets the scarred emotionally and mentally Brooks and he becomes her anchor. This is their story. Their story of being together. Of each wrong turn they made and its consequences. Of what can happen when two emotionally bruised people come together and find love and solace in each other and not find healing as well. Both have some trauma but do not feel the need to deal with it and instead feed off each other in a unhealthy way. You know they love each other and in a way help one another but how is yet to be seen. These two characters are real and yet stunted. There are no lessons learned, no getting strength from one another to get personal growth. There is co-dependency. If you hope to see some growth like in the series Addicted to you where they work on their issues apart from each other but still need and support each other you will be disappointed. They are in pain and in need of each other but do not want to deal with what is causing their pain. They only want each other. The characters are three dimensional and real. You feel their bleeding throughout the pages with each word. There really are no villains except the pain they are feeling and how they take comfort in handling this pain. You will love and hate the characters as they draw from that pain and each other to make wrong choices and yet love each other and accept everything of each other as they do. You will feel their pain and love, joys and sorrows like no other for the writing is meant to draw you in and hold you until you cannot take any more and yet you still feel the need to continue on to hope for a happy outcome. This is a tear jerker. A heartbreaking beautifully written tearjerker that will have you feeling so so sad and happy and mad all at once and the ending will just have you needing tissues.
review 2: I have a couple issues with this book. I didn't like the way it ended. I didn't like how we had so so much drama involved with this storyline and i felt like none of it was resolved. She had issues with her parents and 'brothers'. Not resolved, was still an issue by the end. Issues with her boyfriend. not really resolved, even with how it ended. Issues with cutting. We don't know that it was resolved. Issues with her work. Not resolved. SO many issues and nothing was resolved. I couldn't connect with the book the way I would have liked to. less

This book had it's ups and downs, and a sad ending, but I couldn't put it down until I finished.
