review 1: If I could, I'd give it 2.5 stars. Entertaining story but not the best flow getting to the end. Graphic sex and language thrown in just because at times when it wasn't needed. I'm not a prude - I love Chelsea Handler - I just found it unnecessary and distracting in this story. The sex thrown in almost seemed to be a kindle mixup of two books being blended together. It just didn't fit well into the story.Otherwise, I enjoyed the book.
review 2: By itself, I would give this book a 3-4, but an exemplary performance by Marie Rose is worth at least another star. ... morencept, with the central body being the strongest. The heroine, Mara, has a fresh and lively voice, and most supporting characters are also terrific. The plot, too, is original, if marred by a few minor anachronisms and some pacing issues. Fine humor supports, but doesn't overpower the plot, and the author has a real talent for dialog. It was overall a terrific listen and I look forward to another episode! less
