review 1: With such a beautiful cover, this novel, surprisingly, and thankfully, didn't disappoint. The summary on the back of the book sounded interesting but I didn't know what to expect. This novel was less about technology and scientific advances, and was instead about relationships and the impact that this new technology has on people's lives. This novel crosses many genres - YA, sci-fi, romance, and mystery, and it is most definitely a positive exploration as this novel ended up being really engrossing and fascinating. I`m so glad I picked it up at the library as an impulse read. I`m even more happy that I kept reading it because there were some slow parts during the beginning half of the novel (and I feared this was going to be a 2-star book for me), but the second half of th... moree novel really picked up. The ending offers a payoff that makes it worth the read. Though I must complain that 2 of the characters were named Cuteney and Dizzy - I`m definitely not a fan of these choices.
review 2: i think this could be a really intriguing book if only the author added any depth to each, or any, part of the story. my 12yo daughter read it also. she liked the book just fine but we are still arguing over the relationship between two of the characters. we both have a ton of unanswered questions and are confused about certain parts; we must have spent at least 20 mins tossing scenarios back and forth trying to tie some of the pieces together. i suppose it's worth reading just so long as you're looking for an easy read on those days when you don't want to immerse yourself in a story but just want to pass some time. i hope there is a sequel that will complete the hanging drop-offs. i'm not sure if i would bother to read it but i must pick it up just out of curiosity. less
