review 1: The end of feelingsMy thoughtsBeautiful story filled with drama and love. SynopsisBenjamin Nefer seems to have it all. He’s the most popular guy in school, the star quarterback with college scouts looking at him, his grades are near the top of his class, he can get any girl he wants . . . but he hides behind his dream life to mask the nightmare of his reality.Charlie Austin is the new girl. Forced to move in with a bitter aunt, she only wants to protect her fragile mom from the world’s cruelty. When Benjamin sets his sights on Charlie, she’s armored against his charm—friends warned her about Benjamin’s game of pursuing and then dumping a long line of girls, not caring about the broken hearts he leaves behind. She doesn’t count on how single-minded he can be whe... moren she refuses him, or how charismatic, easing into her life through what he claims is just friendship.Benjamin thought he could keep Charlie in the same place he keeps all girls—something to be used and then discarded. But Charlie has as many secrets as he does, secrets he’s determined to discover while keeping his own hidden. He realizes she’s the perfect girlfriend candidate . . . someone he can use to keep up the façade of a perfect life. Now he just has to keep his frozen heart from softening toward this unique girl, because if he doesn’t, his carefully constructed lies might just come thundering down around him, crushing him beneath the burden of feeling. My ReviewThis story is based on Benjamin and Charlie (or Charlotte) friendship and relation. At first, I thought it was the typical bad boy story, that has every girl he wants, and that is the leader of his gang and that has the perfect life. And yes, I can say he is a bad boy, and that he can have every girl he wants and more, but his life is far from being perfect.I liked how Cindy C. Bennett, the author, wrote this story. I liked how she introduced the characters, and described them. I was surprised about the two marked and different situations they were living, and how they were dealing with it.They had secrets and wanted no one to know about them, they just wanted to escape from reality and feel free while they were at school and with friends, because they knew that when they were back home things would been completely different.Maybe because I can see myself in Charlie’s situation, I can tell that I understand why she was scared of share her secrets, especially one of them. Is not easy to share a part of our life, and be afraid that people won’t understand it, and will think we are freaks and will just laugh about us. So that situation she was living, it reminded my life and how I deal with it since I was born. But I loved how she stopped being scared and took the risk to tell her biggest secret, and how her new friends accepted that situation and told her to never be afraid of telling about it, because they are not superfluous and is something wonderful and only people that loves you would understand it.On the other hand we have Ben’s life situation. It really shocked me when I read with what he was dealing. I didn’t expect it and the author really surprised me. I don’t want to give many details about it, but I will only say that when you read the synopsis, you will never imagine how his life and all he is going through is. Is sad and terrible, and no person should live something like that. No person should be used to suffer that way, and then lie so people doesn’t know about it, so people doesn’t feel sorry for you. That is what he has to do every single day, lie and pretend he has a perfect wonderful life, when is the complete opposite. It made me cry this book in some situations, but I love how it ended, and I love the message that wants to give. Don’t be afraid to share how things are in your life, and don’t be scared to trust and to love. There will always be someone there to help you; there will always be someone there to listen. Trust and believe things can be different. And always believe that we all have the right to be in love, and be loved. Don’t shut your feelings, don’t hide them, because is the most beautiful thing in the world we have.I recommend this story to those who want a different story, maybe a little more down to earth and with real situations in the daily life.
