review 1: I was intrigued by this book after hearing a synopsis of it by a different book club. I Was looking forward to reading it but in the end it disappointed me. Very slow moving and when all is said and done, very little happens and circumstances remain vague throughout. I wondered about all sorts of things as I read, but most of my questions were never answered. The concept of the story is original, so I still enjoyed it to a degree, but the gripping tale just didn't materialize for me.

This is a brilliant debut novel from a talented new writer. My only criticism lies with the publisher, who let a few too many proofing errors and typos slip through the net. less
