review 1: Hopeless by Colleen Hoover was a beautiful and touching book but at the same time made me frustrated. The writing was very powerful and it really evoked emotions when I was reading it. It was also a very suspenseful story so I couldn’t put it down, I wanted to know what her secret was, and I wanted to know were Holder recognized her from, and I read the whole book in two days. Strengths that I noticed in this book was the amount of detail she spent on certain important scenes. And she did a really good job describing scenes that would be very important to the plot later in the story but you don’t know that yet and I really added to the suspense, because instead of all the secrets coming out at once, the biggest one was revealed and then you have to go back to remember ... morewhat was previously described. This book is part of a series and I will continue to read it because this is the only series that this author has written that I haven't read yet and I really like her writing style. I really liked this book. I’d give it a 5/5.
review 2: My favorite line in the history of my favorite lines from this book would be:“I’m not even going to tell you what I think about what just happened in there. But I know it sucked and I have no idea why you aren’t crying right now, but I know your heart hurts, and maybe even your pride. So fuck school. We’re going for ice cream.”I live Breckin. And there's a reason why Dean Holder only exists in this book. He's too damn perfect to be real. Perfect as in perfectly-bad and perfectly-sweet. There's no in between. less
