review 1: wow...I've not only have I read this book numerous of times,but these girls were killed in the neighborhood I grew up in...My brother and sister went to school with these girls in Waltrip Highschool my sister even shared gym class with Elizabeth. Our entire community was shocked of what happened to them and how it happened whom was evolved in committed this heinous crime. My husband and I often visit their memorial in Tc Jester park, and sometimes leave flowers and teddy bears...RIP girls
review 2: I did not take notes when I read this story. I did not intend on reviewing it at any time. However, I have since learned something about a good friend that has brought this story to the forefront of my mind (No, he wasn't involved in this crime but similar). I wil... morel have to re-read this book with a notebook to give an accurate and fair review. For now I am going off my memory and emotions.I have a hard time wrapping my head around the actions of these men. How can someone take random strangers and humilate them and murder them? Then just leave their bodies behind like garbage? If one of the boys wasn't a braggard, they may have gotten away with the crime. That is the scary part. I grew up in that area and I walked in that area during the time of this murder. The whole "it could have been me" does run through your mind. And then it is discovered that there was a third victim found down the road from the college I was attending at that time. Knowing the places and being able to physically put yourself in those spots makes it surreal. Not to mention realizing that you were "right there" when some of the action occurred.I am going to re-read this novel this weekend to give it an accurate review. It is hard to review true crimes but I plan on trying my hand at it. Please stay tuned for this one. less
