review 1: The plot in itself was inviting, entertaining and exciting. The writing should have seen more work though. It was difficult to follow and sometimes even understand and marred the flow of the story making it seem a little broken and unfinished. There was also no world building done whatsoever. You were dropped in the middle of action trying to work your way through small clues and sometimes you couldn't even understand if the characters were thinking things or actually speaking out loud. It was confusing to say the least.
review 2: I would have rated this higher if it had been a full length novel.... Lots of potential there for more and I was sorry to realise how short this was. Interesting futuristic steampunk-ish setting, likeable heroes with just enough roman... morece, threads of a rebellion and intrigue...all elements I love but just felt like they were novel length ideas rushed into a short story. Enjoyed the writing style , would read more from this author less
