review 1: I picked this novella up this evening and just put it down (it's midnight) and wow. Totally engrossing, clearly and some passages that are so in tune with where I am in life right about now (physically, I am traveling; but also emotionospiritually too / forgive the portmanteau!)....

review 1: Well, I concluded that ARCTIC SUMMER is a great book that nevertheless only engages me part-time (I read the first 160 pages). It feels a little repetitive to me, but I can see that Galgut has almost twinned with Forster, and takes on his style of writing and even his personality...
