review 1: I love this series. This one just as enjoyable as any of the others. I was a bit disappointed with Part I (which usually is just a section of funny, anecdotal-ish blurbs on this or that), but this time was mostly comprised of articles on or related to Occupy Wall Street. I thought those articles would have better been represented in Part II. I hope next year, Part I goes back to being fun. As for Part II, what can I say, these kids know how to pick good stories. Just about all of them, whether fiction or non, were fantastic. Although there always seems to be one or two each year that I don't like or don't get-- but that just makes me think about them more, why didn't I see in this story that other people did-- and I end up thinking about them more than the ones I really li... moreked. All around good.
review 2: Favorite stories were:Tin ManThe Years of my BirthOlivia Hamilton - journalism, not fiction but the voice of Olivia is well captured and the story is harrowing. The Palace of the People - great characters and local color. wonder how Matta did his background research. The Street of the House of the Sun - well structured and funny.Redeployment - well written, but this is a genre piece. less

Diverse and mostly interesting. Best bit is a beautiful foreword by Ray Bradbury.

A mixed bag, both in content and quality.
