review 1: *** Spoiler Alert! ***Well, I honestly don't know what to think. I found the center of this story pretty good. Adam had met Sara and instantly fell in love, quit his job and moved in with her shortly thereafter. decides to go back to school and starts working in the campus book store, takes a road trip with Sara meets her mom and his biological father whom it turns out did in fact molest Sara as a child. I really had high hopes that these two would make it through this... I mean sure once the truth came out it wasn't going to be easy at first - that much is obvious. but to have them split up have her die and him just move back home go back to school yet again and then at the very end decide to go out with Heather. Really! 3 stars best I can offer. sorry, but that ending wa... mores just all wrong to me. they had just clicked so easily - I believe the phrase used was like there are 8 billion people in the world and they found that one person that they were meant to be with... and then you killed her off! very disappointing ending in my opinion.
review 2: Fluke is your typical guy next door, but as you know, everyone has a story or two worth sharing. You can't help but fall in love with the comedic Adam Fluke and truly feel the agony as his past unravels before him. This novel reminds me of my own youth and all the silliness, as well as the growing pains that help mold us into the adults we become. I really recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a coming-of-age selection with a moving and unexpected ending. I would also love to know more about Fluke-- pre or post life with Sara!! less
