review 1: DNF I had to abandon this one half-way through. The topic of youth concussions is important, but I couldn't get past the format. The alternating blogs of two high school students didn't work for me. I can't figure out if the problem was that the voices were so authentic that they sounded like teenagers and I just couldn't get past their lack of eloquence, or if the voices were just not authentic at all and sounded patronizing. The structure felt forced because I don't think that bloggers for a school or public newspaper would share so many personal irrelevant details, such as the problems with their parents, etc. There are too many books out there to force myself through this one.
review 2: I really enjoyed reading this book. Growing up being very involv
... moreed in athletics and now being a softball coach I found this story very interesting. This book represents very well how big and important football is in a small town. I like how the book is written in high school news/blog form. Some of the entries were a bit long and repetitive but the book was very informative and covered many big issues that are going on in youth athletics, especially tackle football and head injuries. I would recommend this book to any athlete that plays contact sports or parents of children that play contact sports. Great book with awesome information! less

Good story. High school themes (alcohol and others) so not ready for my 5th grader to read this one.
