review 1: This is a true story of how, or not, to move a dog rescue across the US. The moving chapters are interspersed with stories of each of the 20+ dogs, how they were acquired, why and updates on how they were faring at the end of the book. I've always enjoyed David R's fiction works. This book contains the same humor and good writing as those. He does make himself sound like a grouch, but I think that can't be all true because of the people that volunteered to help move. I think that most parts of the move are downplayed or omitted, but it might have been the same schedule followed day after day. You can tell where his interested lies, the stories of the dogs are more animated. I believe Mr R, his wife and his friends go above and beyond the normal actions of most peo... moreple. Hooray for people like them. They are special.
review 2: The book, "Dog Tripping" is about a man named Don and his family who loves saving dogs. The whole family wants to keep dogs safe. The family works at shelters to help dogs. They bring dogs home who do not have any chance of being adopted. So, the family started a foundation to save dogs. They wanted to save hundreds of dogs and people volunteered to help. The family and the volunteers went across the country saving dogs. The book inspired me because I am a dog lover and one day I would like to become a veterinarian. It also reminded me about how my mom used to pick up stray dogs and cats and find them homes. less
