review 1: I enjoyed this book for the fact that, although it was a paranormal story, it was historical. I thought the author did a great job with setting, and staying in that time period. The descriptions and even dialogue kept the reader in the "past" although traces of paranormal elements were trickled in. It was a interesting take on a classic. My only peeve was I would have like to have seen more "love" between her and her ultimate love interest. But, other than that, well done.
review 2: I love the story of Little Red Riding Hood and I was instantly attracted by the premise of the book as well as by the alluring cover. I really enjoyed the book until the last third, when it started getting a little confusing and somewhat rushed. I like the sympathetic, kind and brav
... moree heroine, but I didn't really care about the two male protagonists. I just couldn't connect with them or feel anything about the love triangle. For me, there wasn't enough tension between them. But overall, it's a nicely written story and the author did a good job with the historical setting. I did find myself transported to that time and place. The story kept me reading until I had to reach the end and find out how it was all going to end--I think because of the protagonist. I liked Scarlette and cared about her predicament. less
