review 1: A good storyline keeps this book interesting from the start. Everything about the book was good making it a solid 4 stars but slight lapses in detail bring I down slightly. For example, I've just started reading the second book in the series and the surname of Helen's boyfriend changes from Denton to Dawson but little things like this present a very small problem in comparison to the brilliance of the book that kept me up into the early hours of the morning on many occasions as I simply couldn't put it down!!

... moreawn into the fictional world of nurse training in the 1930s. Times are hard, and the life of a student nurse are far from easy. Being a nurse myself, I found this a fascinating insight into how "the good old days" were. We meet Dora, Helen and Millie, 3 very different characters, but the bonds they form and the experiences they have make me very excited to read more of their adventures. less
