review 1: With my husband's encouragement and link-sending, I've become a fan of Magary's articles on Deadspin and in GQ, so I was excited to read his book. While it's funny and at times touching, I'm sorry to say this book lacks the same edge and quick wit that I really love to see from him. It's a fun, quick read, and I'd still recommend it; I just wish it was more representative of the sharp talent I've seen in his other work.
