review 1: An *ARC* copy in exchange for an honest review.I was totally amped for this book. I loved the authors Forever series and I hoped that this would be as good. It was! Throughout the book we see the six characters lives intertwine with each other to a very awesome end. It sort of gives a new meaning to the phrase "a small world". I am not the type of reviewer who writes my own synopsis of the book and spoils it for everyone, but I will say that the characters are really believable and you make a connection with every single one, whether it be like or not so much! The bad boy, Rex is totally hot and even though Alex seems to be a bit lacking in the confidence department at the beginning, he really grows into his character towards the end. Excellent character development! Th... moree women were strong female characters, which I really like to see, especially when they show their vulnerable side as well, and I admit I swayed between love and hate for Cassie and for Lissa, because somehow the guys seemed far more loveable, probably because of their vulnerability. As a whole this book was pretty awesome. It was well written, nicely edited, the characters were "real", the story was amazing and I got totally swept away. Recommended for an interesting adult read which won't leave you disappointed.
review 2: I received this book as an *ARC* for an honest review.Wow! I'll admit I am a huge fan of Eve Newton's work, but this has just set the bar that much higher. Having been a fan of her paranormal erotic Forever Series, I was interested to see how Newton would do with a mainstream erotic novel. I was not disappointed! We start off with the character of Alex who was portrayed as a maybe slightly hot geek (drool, lol) lusting after his beautiful new boss, Cassandra. She was initially seen as the perfect girl, but we soon learn she has some issues. Love that! Enter Rex! Oh my word. He is the serious bad boy, all mysterious and edgy and well I nearly drooled all over my iPad mini! However, he was a bit of a different character. We have seen the bad boy with his issues a thousand times, but perhaps Rex was not quite so stereotypical. He was the one who wanted to change, he saw in her the reason for becoming a better guy, but she didn't know the real him and he eventually realized this. I so do not want to get into any more spoilers, because I hate when reviewers do that, but we definitely see the relationships between the stated 6 characters change and it is one awesome ride. The intricate way they were all connected together in the end was beyond amazing and I fully believe this should go into a "romantic suspense" category as well as Contemporary Erotic. Yes, it is definitely 18+ , but it definitely does NOT fall into the awful "smut" category. If you want a "fall in love with them" romance, with an adult edge then this is the book for you. It is classy, sexy, interesting and all out the best book I have read in the past...... Well a really long time! less
