review 1: I didn't even know who Boyle was before picking up this book but the first few chapters left my ribs hurting with sadistic humor. I read the book in traffic in a bus and am sure the person sitting next to me must have thought me mad because of how hard I was laughing. I'd read a paragraph put the book aside laugh so much that I'd be fighting back tears and a running nose. The statement on the back page read something like 'if you like the davinci code and harry porter why are you even looking at this you retard' that got me hooked.A great read wish all the chapters maintained the humor. The one joke I wouldn't forget from this book is that... someone organized a show for kids with disability where MJ was to perform. Boyle boldly asks if MJ could have done what he was accused... more of to able kids, imagine what he could do to kids who can't run away!!!
review 2: As a long-time fan of Boyle's subversive offensive humour, I picked up this book, figuring I'd get some insight into his life and hopefully, read some more of his jokes. Turns out, I'm a bit disappointed. While he does toss at the reader a liberal dose of his trademark celebrity-themed jokes, his "autobiography" seems more like a rambling stream-of-consciousness-esque narration of his memories. We don't really get to learn much about his life (Then again, in all fairness, he does warn us about that in the introduction), and the narration is all over the place, often fragmented and moving off in tangents - much like his standup acts.Clearly, Boyle's no storyteller - He relies more on punchlines and short snippets, rather than an engaging story. All in all, not really a great read, but as a fan, I wasn't completelydisappointed. less

Hilariously funny, although to be honest a little to much uneccsary swearing for my liking
