Review: Porter’s Mate

Wolf shifter, Porter Burke, isn’t interested in finding his mate, until the night the fragile and frightened human walks into his bar and asks for his help. She’s a complication he doesn’t need, but resisting her plea for help and the unexpected payment she offers for his protection proves much harder than he thought.

Maggie Wallace is in trouble. A hyena shifter wants her, and when his obsession with her turns dangerous, she’s forced to make a drastic decision. Alone and desperate, she makes the wolf shifter she’s just met an offer she hopes he can’t refuse.

With the help of his brother’s security company, Porter promises to keep Maggie safe. Pretending to be her mate is surprisingly easy. But with each passing day, their mutual attraction grows stronger and soon Maggie’s sweet kisses have his wolf howling to claim her as his mate for real.

Author’s Note: “Porter’s Mate” is Book Four in The Shifters Series. Although it is a stand-alone story, I would recommend reading the first three books in the series.

Please note that this book contains steamy and explicit sex scenes and may not be your cup of tea. It is intended for mature audiences only.

Warning! Mild spoilers below.

It took awhile but after much anticipation, Elizabeth Kelly has released Porter’s Mate, the fourth installment of The Shifters Series!

Now before you read this book, I recommend to read the first three books otherwise you might get confused about the characters and certain details. You don’t have to but its better that way and besides, the first three books are just as good as Porter’s Mate.

Porter’s Mate features Porter Burke, younger brother of Malcolm Burke who was featured in the first book. Unlike his brother, Porter’s been known for his outrageous past streak with women. One night while working at a bar for paranormals, Porter’s approached by Maggie Wallace who asks for protection from her hyena shifter ex-boyfriend who has been stalking her. With circumstances like that, Porter decides to help her and offers her shelter at his home. However, it doesn’t take long before Porter and Maggie begin to feel an attraction between them. Sadly, their romance is in danger because Maggie’s ex who is not going to continue going after her but he’s going to make sure to get Porter out of the way in order to claim her.

Overall, Porter’s Mate was another well written addition to the series. I’ll admit I did not believe it was going to be interesting considering the last three books. However, I was wrong! This installment has got to be the best addition to the series! The plot of Porter’s Mate may have been a common one often used but Elizabeth Kelly did an excellent job in making this book more suspenseful than any of the previous three books.

Can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next in the next installment!
