review 1: Even though I made it to just less than halfway through this book, I'm still counting it as read. It was so cute... Until it was soooo dirty. The filth really didn't match how adorable it was being and it really put me off. Such a shame. I have a fine imagination, I don't really need the mechanics of sex explained to me in detail. I'm okay with just a fade out during some kissing, I can figure out the rest. But then, I might just be a prude.
review 2: Never have I fallen in love with characters as quickly as I did reading this book. Amy is an adorable, unique yet believable heroine, with lovable quirks and brilliant development. Ben was a character who has to be both hated and loved. I found his sense of humour perfect even when his cockiness leaves you begging... more for him to be taken down a peg. However, you still get that sense that he is, as mentioned in the book, 'a lovely chap'. Penney's writing style was exactly to my taste and has the reader laughing at all the right moments, but also knows when to get us thinking on the more serious side too. Although there was nothing unpredictable about the story, I was enthralled the whole way through and the plot never went dry. Secondary characters had wonderful personalities and stories of their own and everything tied together very well, and it's these characters who help bring Amy to her realisations. Even Amy's dog Gerald brings enough to the tale that it wouldn't quite be the same without him. less
