Gillian Flynn is an American writer, who was born in Kansas City, in 1971. Gillian studied at the University of Kansas, where she graduated from with a Master's degree en English and journalism. She is married and has one child.

Before started to write, she worked for Entertainment Weekly. She always wanted to become a cryme reporter. However, one day she realize her dream to be a writer. She wrote three books: Sharp Objects, which was... more published in 2006, Dark Places in 2009 and Gone Girl in 2012. The first book won two awards. The second and the third book are bestsellers. The second book was screen and is launched in September, 2014. The Gone Girl was turned into a film, which releases in October, 2014. Some critics think that Gillian’s main theme of all her books is antifeminism. Her books are about crime and investigation process.
