review 1: This paranormal romance had some interesting characters and action scenes; however, Kat's continuing distrust of Adrian throughout the book got to be rather boring. Instead of growing into an interesting character, she stayed weak, seemingly manipulated by her parents, various vampires and witches, Adrian, and even her own powers right to the very last page. I would have liked more plot and less angst.
review 2: It took me a little while to get into this one. I finally warmed up to it several chapters in and really started enjoying it. The author did a good job developing the characters and the plot. The hero, Adrian, is a vampire determined to control everything & everyone around him with the ultimate goal of controlling the world. Of course, he then meets
... more Katerina "Kat" and she turns his world up-side-down. I am often an unrealistic optimist and love villainous characters that wind up being good, so I enjoyed his character & experiencing the changes he went through. Kat, on the other hand, wasn’t my favorite heroin. I started out really liking her. She was strong and stood up for what she believed in, but about half way through the book that strength and determination felt more like bull-headed, brattiness. Overall, it wasn’t a story that kept me glued to the pages, but it was a good read.FYI - Dialog editing needed! less
