review 1: This is a sweet story that is sure to entertain young children. With its repetitive, rhyming narrative that is full of fun onomatopoeia, the story is great fun to read aloud. The watercolor illustrations are terrific. They are colorful and cartoonish and we love the anthropomorphized animals (a moose wearing glasses!) Overall, this is a great book to read with children and I think it would work just as well in a group as one on one at bedtime. It's a bit young for our girls, but we all really enjoyed reading it together. So cute!
review 2: Although the book had nice large blocks of color in the illustrations of pencil, color pencil and watercolor, the pictures were almost overly simple, as was the story, and the book did not hold my attention. Written fo... morer younger readers, a bear tiptoes through the woods and countryside finding other animals to follow him. After gathering a group, they return with him to his bear cave to meet his two new baby bears. The only real progression in the story is adding one animal at a time to the group, although the story can teach about quiet walking and talking, and animal identity. less
